Tips of NOT singing out of tune

  • 元音的練習除進行哼鳴練習外,更多地是進行元音的練習,如a,i,o,u,e等單元音練習,也可用混合元音練習如ma、me、mi、mo、mu等等。

What are the singing techniques? How to sing better? Are there any singing tips? Sing and You can teach how to learn singing quickly by providing one to one singing class experience. Vocal training can use every vowel, mixed vowels or mixed consonants. We can also use scales 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 etc to have vocal training. Apart from the scales, we can write lyrics of the song to have vocal exercise.

*Before starting the basic vocal training “Humming”, it would be better to sing “M” first. Since this sound can easily reach the highest place and have bright and concentrated effects. When we practice “Humming”, our lips should close naturally, but the inner part of our mouth should be opened and looks like closed yawn. We can feel that our nose and sinus expand. However, we must not let the sound block inside the nasal cavity, otherwise, we will have a nasal vowel.

*Besides “Humming” practice, We can have vowel practice, for example, a, i, o, u, e. We can also use mixed vowel such as ma, me, mi, mo, mu etc.

*People always said "If you do not know how to legato, you do not know how to sing." The major performance of singing is the beauty of legato. Only the legato of sound can sing the beauty of the rhythm. In order to increase the legato of sound, we can extend the vocal range. The difficulties of practice will be enhanced when we do so.

*Staccato requires to sing it clear, short, flexible, elastic and concentrated. When we practice, we need to be aware of the flexibility of every word and sound, and the legato between every word and sound.

*After understanding the basic singing techniques of legato and staccato, we can combine legato and staccato to practice. This is beneficial for standardizing our singing. Staccato seems like a point, while legato seems like a line. If the point links to the line, the voice will be standardized and we are able to breathe smoothly.

*Practicing “Humming” can help to find the resonance. If you find the correct resonance, you can use “Humming” to sing other sounds.

*We practice to sing flexibly in order to adapt to different tempos of different songs. Through practicing, we can train up the coordination of our body, throat and breath effectively.

*We can imagine the scenes and pictures of the song when we study the lyrics. Our voice has the emotions and the beauty of the music if we are able to understand the song. We also need to sing every words accurately so as to project the song fully to the audience during the performance.
