唱歌以外：趣談簫 Beyond Singing: Xiao
除了學唱歌，我們也很鼓勵小朋友學唱歌以外的音樂知識！香港很多小朋友都學鋼琴，因此我們這輯文章暫時不談鋼琴了，就談中樂吧！
這是什麼樂器？它就是中國古老的樂器之一－簫。簫與笛子是十分不同的。雖然彼此都是吹奏樂器，而且外型亦是相近，但是兩者在音色、指法等多方面都是略有不同的。簡單來說就是簫是豎著吹；而笛子是橫著吹。早在魏晉時代，簫就已出現了。然而簫的歷史十分悠久，但在現代已是甚少有名曲出品。
題外話：香港很多小朋友都參加音樂課外活動，其實學鋼琴或其他樂器都有很多好處，不過有一種好處只在學唱歌當中才找到，就是學習咬字！我們認為唱歌是最能幫助小朋友直接表達感受的音樂活動，因為唱歌的樂器就是小朋友自己的身體，也包括他們的心靈世界。

Wonder what this Chinese instrument is? The is Xiao which is a vertical end- blown flute. Although the appearance of Xiao and Dizi are quite similar, in fact they are totally different such as range,etc. To put it simply, Dizi is a horizontal blowed flute whereas Xiao is a vertical blowed flute.
P.S. Many Hong Kong kids attend after school music activities. While learning to play the piano or other instruments certainly can bring many benefits to a kid, there is one unique benefit about singing - it is the only music music activity that helps a kid with diction!
