But the physical difference between a male and a female’s vocal cord renders it difficult to sing these song in their original key.
There are several common problems for people who want to sing the song of the opposite sex. For female singers, they are usually comfortable to sing a male song’s high pitch part, yet struggle to sing the normal pitch part. For male singers, it is usually the case that the normal pitch part is too high to start with, and the chorus or the high pitch part of a female song impossible to sing.

相信很多人去KTV都會點原唱是異性的歌。但是可能會很困擾，怎麼調都調不到適合自己的ＫＥＹ。今天就要教大家怎樣調ＫＥＹ。
什麼是ＫＥＹ呢？
想像眼前有個鋼琴。白鍵的音名依序為ＣＤＥＦＧＡＢ再回到Ｃ。白鍵之間還有黑鍵。每個鍵之間的距離叫半音。兩個鍵之間的距離稱作全音。以【全全半全全全半】排列的一串音高就稱作大調音階。以不同的音為第一顆音就是不同的大調音階。
比如說，以Ｃ為第一顆音就是Ｃ大調音階。第一個Ｃ到下一個Ｃ，總共有１２個不同的音可以當作第一顆音（Ｃ，Ｃ＃，Ｄ，Ｄ＃，Ｅ，Ｆ，Ｆ＃，Ｇ，Ｇ＃，Ａ，Ａ＃，Ｂ）。因此也會有１２個不同的大調音階。
而當我們說某一首歌是Ｃ大調（Ｃ ＫＥＹ）的時候，意思是這首歌旋律的大部分的音，都是有Ｃ大調音階裡的音排列而組成。一首個可以有１２個調，也就是１２個ＫＥＹ。
我們所說的１個ＫＥＹ就等於一個半音。也就是說你可以將升一個ＫＥＹ說成升一個半音。但是，是沒有【升半個ＫＥＹ】這一回事的。
