Adjusting the key

So how do adjust the song’s key if a male want to sing a female song? We could calculate the suggested key adjustment based on the difference of comfortable pitch range between male and female. Since Male’s comfortable range and Female’s comfortable range are approximately apart for approximately 5 keys, when singing a male song, girls could raise the song pitch by 5 keys. Conversely, male singer could lower a female song by 5 keys to suit for their comfortable vocal range.

Here are two extra factors that you should consider when adjusting the key.

1. Inability to sing high notes

If you are not familiar with the correct method to sing high notes, you might adjust your key downwards. If you are good at singing high notes, you may raise the key to challenge yourself and train to wider your range.

2. The original song is already low in key

If the original song is already low in key or does not contain high notes for typical male voice, male singer might choose to raise the key and female singer might raise more than 5 keys to compensate for the lack of high notes.

那男生唱女生的歌時要怎樣調ＫＥＹ呢？其實我們可以直接以混聲區的位置來推算。大部分男生開始進入混聲區的位置是Ｅ。大部分女生開始進入混聲區的位置是Ａ。這雨個音的距離是５個半音。

所以當女生想唱男生的歌時就可以升５個ＫＥＹ。相反地，男生想要唱女生的歌時就可以降５個ＫＥＹ。

以下幾個因素也會影響大家升降ＫＥＹ的數量。

１：對混聲區不熟悉

如果你對於混聲區要怎樣唱還不太熟悉，常常感到唱高音會吃力的話，女生可以不要升到５個ＫＥＹ，男生也可以降超過５個ＫＥＹ。相反，如果你較擅長唱高音，女生可以升超過５個ＫＥＹ，男生可以不要降到５個ＫＥＹ。

２：原曲較高或較低

如果男性唱的歌曲整體較低，甚至沒有進入男性的混聲區。那男生便可以選擇升ＫＥＹ唱，而女生更可以升不止５個ＫＥＹ。
